Security Tips

Leave a light on when you vacation. Light timers work well to deter a burglar
      from your home or business.

Have your mail picked up by a neighbor when vacationing or have your
      local post office stop delivery.
Cancel any other regular deliveries such as newspapers.

Remove shrubs or trees near your home that could hide a potential
       burglar from sight.

Don’t leave ladders around your home since burglars can use them to gain access.

Lock all doors every night and whenever you are away from home.

Install sensor lights around your home.

Install a monitored security and/or surveillance system by
Guardian Security and Surveillance and educate  all family members
on how to use the system.

Install deadbolt locks on your outside doors and make sure all door hinges are on
     the inside.

Don’t hide keys outside your home, burglars usually know where to locate them.

Tell relatives or neighbors where you can be reached when away from home
for extended periods of time in case of an emergency.

When you buy a new appliance, destroy the box or hide it so others won’t know
you have something new and valuable inside. Videotape, photograph and keep
a written register of all your valuables and their serial numbers.

Store valuable documents such as insurance policies and wills in a
fire proof safe or safe deposit box.

Program emergency contact numbers into your phone memory
and clearly label them so it will be easy to dial them in an emergency.

Take a look around your home every three months to see if you can get into
your home with out a key. If so, make a change to secure that vulnerable place.

Check to see if there is a Neighborhood Watch Association in your community.
These programs help to keep you updated on problems in your neighborhood.
They also get more people involved to help watch  and protect your home and family.
If there is no active Neighborhood Watch contact your local police department
      to start  one.
